Get to know Nick

We often find ourselves exactly where we’re meant to be. After growing up across different parts of the world and spending much of my career in Asia, I’ve now settled in the stunning surroundings of Queenstown, New Zealand. Each morning, just looking out the window reminds me how far I’ve come.

My path to becoming a functional breathwork instructor wasn’t a straight one. For over 25 years, I worked in the fast-paced, high-pressure world of finance. Over time, the effects of chronic stress began to show—confirming what I had heard many times: the body truly does keep the score.

I explored countless ways to manage the toll it was taking on me. Some helped a little, but nothing really stuck—until I picked up a book on breathing. In that moment, something clicked. I was immediately drawn in and began a deep journey of learning with many of the world’s leading breath work visionaries and experts.

What I discovered was powerful: while there are countless approaches to wellness and healing, so many of them lead back to one essential foundation—the breath. It underpins nearly every function of our physiology and plays a critical role in how we respond to illness, stress, and life itself.

To this day, I remain amazed by how little attention we give to this profound and life-changing science. There are very few physical, emotional or psychological problems that are not caused by dysfunctional breathing, or made worse by it.
